Images of Oran

Oran occupies a central place in Camus' life and his literature.  The Plague takes place in Oran, a short story titled The Stop in Oran is obviously placed there, his second wife Francine Faure is from Oran, and he lives in Oran on and off for parts of his early years as a writer.

I have chased up some vintage images of Oran to give the Camus reader and readers of this blog a feel for the city when Camus lived there and the time period he writes about.

Enjoy!
